Rental Preparation Guide

A practical checklist for preparing a site, loading a dumpster, and arranging pickup.

Before delivery

Preparation can reduce delays and help keep the placement area safe. Confirm the delivery window, exact container dimensions, and truck access with the provider.

Site checklist

  • Clear vehicles, equipment, and loose objects from the placement area.
  • Check overhead wires, tree limbs, gates, turning space, and driveway slope.
  • Confirm the surface can support the container and delivery truck.
  • Use suitable protection for paving or other surfaces where appropriate.
  • Obtain owner, landlord, association, or permit approval if required.
  • Keep children, pets, and bystanders away from delivery and loading activity.

While loading

Follow the fill line, weight limit, and material rules. Distribute material as instructed, keep doors and access points clear, and never climb into or onto a container. Do not place prohibited or unknown materials inside.

Before pickup

Confirm the pickup request process, ensure the truck can access the container, and remove anything that is not permitted to remain. Keep the agreed placement and loading rules available for anyone helping with the project.
